The Bovis Scale: A Beginner’s Introduction
Antoine Bovis (1871–1947) was a French researcher fascinated by the invisible forces of life energy. He developed what is now called the Bovis Scale—a way to measure the “life force” or vitality of people, food, places, and objects.

The scale originally ranged from 0 to 18,000 units, with 6,500 set as the neutral point for human health. Values below 6,500 were thought to weaken energy, while higher numbers indicated vitality and well-being.
Modern practitioners have extended the scale far beyond this—some readings go into the billions (≈30B) and much more, which are considered “outside the box,” pointing to realms beyond ordinary perception, sometimes described as Pure Consciousness.
Today, the Bovis Scale is often used alongside dowsing or pendulum work to measure energy levels. Many practitioners use it to check the vitality of food, the energetic balance of chakras, or the harmony of living spaces.
This introduction is meant for those who are new to energy concepts. It offers a simple way to understand how subtle energy can be observed and measured—no prior knowledge needed, just curiosity and an open mind.
